Message on comment form. Many of you have seen I have this: "Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I read each and every one of them. In case you leave a question, I will answer in this same post. XoX" It adds more of a personal touch, and you get the chance to thank your viewers for reading your blog. This appears right on top of the comment form. To add your personal message go to: Dashboard > 'Settings' tab > 'Comments' tab, and at the bottom where it says 'Comment Form Message' is where you get to add your own message.
Add adsense. Want to make some money? Add AdSense!! Place ads where people will more likely see it, but won't bother them. I try to blend the colors so it's not a dramatic change between my posts and the ads. Currently I have ad links on the top, image ads on my left sidebar, and image ads all the way at the bottom. It's always a good idea to change the position of your ads from time to time.To add adsense on Blogger go to your 'Monetize' tab. Follow instructions. For some people it takes only a few days to get their account approved, for me it took two months.
Change cursor. I like to play around with my blog cursor. For Halloween I added an orange pumpkin, for Thanksgiving I added a fat little turkey, and for Christmas I'll try to change it around. I love this website: www.cursors-4u.com It's filled with tons of pre-made cursors. Only downside, you won't be able to see a .gif cursor unless you're using Internet Explorer. For all other browsers you can use any of their "un-moving" cursors.
Open links in a different tab.When adding links to your posts you don't want to lose your readers when they click on them.You want your reader to stay on your blog, and at the same time to open a new window/tab. I like using this code: <a href="LINK" target=_blank>TEXT</a> Where it says LINK you place the website url where the link will open, and TEXT the name of the site.
Follow me. Personally I don't like reading this, it makes me feel like I'm being obligated to follow you and makes you seem to be begging to being followed. People will follow you if they want to, if your blog is interesting to them. All you have to do is visit blogs often and leave nice, honest comments. The next time you come back to your blog I promise you'll find new followers.
