Good Skin With Aloe

A good friend of mine came over one day and brought me aloe for my breakouts assuring me that it would help. I then remembered when I was a little girl when I still didn't suffer from any breakouts, I would go to one of my friends house and see her older sister applying aloe on her face almost every day. I kind of remember she had acne all over her forehead and cheeks, now days her face is all clear. Back then she was a teen so I guess it's the time when acne can be at it's worse. So I did a little research a few days after I started applying Aloe...

History: Even Cleopatra used aloe in her beauty regimen, and in ancient Egypt it was considered the "plant of immortality".

Facts: This is a healing plant and it grows naturally in the desert and can survive long periods without soil or water.

Benefits: The gel inside the plant is almost identical to the ph balance of human skin and this gives it the ability to heal like no other plant with a high water content of 96%.

So this is what I have been doing...
At night time I apply aloe and leave it on the whole night. It's kind of sticky and might be itchy but it will dry up like a mask. I'm used to sleeping on my back because I have back pain, so if you're used to sleeping sideways I don't think it's a good idea. Of course you can always apply it during the day for a few minutes but I feel that I'll see results much faster if I leave it on for hours. After just a few weeks I've seen incredible results, I'm not breaking out as often. I apply my Bio-Oil underneath the aloe to help as a moisturizer and help with the scars.

I also read aloe is useful to treat cuts, wounds, burns, and insect bites that it's equally effective to treat acne. It moisturizes the skin and also heals scars and redness associated with acne.

Naturistics - Trippin

I love, loVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVE, this nail polish!! I stole it from my sister, shhhhhh!! She wants it back but I won't give it back!! lol I really do love it! I did a review on a similar color to this, Stellare Notte, but this one is more monochrome, the two colors going on are more visible, green and purple. This one is 'Trippin' by Naturistics. I got it when CVS was still named Eckers lol. Such lovely colors going on, reminds me of car oil left in parking spaces.

This color is so easy to apply on. It has a small brush, with a small amount of bristles which for me makes it easier to get color around the nail edges. With just one coat you can immediately see the monochrome effect taking place. I can't get enough of this color, I just looove it!

I took photos from different angles to show the different shades of color.

How I have reduced oil on my face...

I kan't remember when I started suffering from very oily skin, but it was very bad. I would wash my face and literally ten minutes later it was already oily. One hour later, it was super greasy like if I had enough oil to fry eggs. I tried various products in hope to reduce oil on my face, I tried different brands of makeup, really I tried everything. From drinking enough water to trying not to use make-up at all. I even washed my face TWO times a day, in between I only used the blotting sheets. But still, no hope for me. Until.... I started using Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion brush!! It's a great alternative to the Clarisonic brand, which costs $150. For the Pretika I paid $30!! at Marshalls, regular price is abouth $50. It has the same features, it has a 20 second timer to wash different parts of the face, it's cordless, it has two settings for deep cleaning, and soft wash. Basically it's the same, just different brands.

So this is what I do...
At night when I take a shower I use my Pretika brush, I use it on high setting. I use 20 sec. timer on forehead, then my nose area, chin, right cheek, left cheek, and throat area. It cleanses and exfoliates at the same time. It's also great to reduce scars left from blemishes. After I get out of the shower I use my Bio-Oil to help with the scars, uneven skin tone, and dehydrated skin. This is what I use as a moisturizer, I don't apply anything else. This contains essential ingredients such as... Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula oil, Lavender oil, Rosemary oil, Chamomile oil, and PurCellin Oil. The consistency is not too oily as I thought it would be like most oils out there, it's just a little oily but not too much. This makes my skin soft and doesn't make me breakout at all.

So because I use the Pretika brush for deep cleaning, I wash my face only once a day, night time. This has greatly reduced how much oil I had on my face and with the breakouts. There is no need for so many products, and no need to wash the face so many times, if not it will become worse.

Eye Exercises: Week 4

This is week four continuing my eye exercises. I have seen improvement from last time. I'm trying to depend less on my glasses when reading, using my laptop, or anything close-up I'll be doing for prolonged periods of time. Before I could see my laptop screen from about 5 inches away, now I can see it from 12 inches away!! Using less your glasses really helps! Also, I have learned the 10-10-10 rule. This consists of every 10 minutes you focus at an object close-up [when reading, using your laptop, doing your nails] turn to focus at an object that's 10 feet away for 10 seconds. This will help relax your eye muscles and make you remember to blink a little more than usual. So this is my brief update, I'll keep writing updates weekly :)

One Year & Two Months Old!!

Today Miss Jaslyn turned 1 year and 2 months old!! Yayy! She is such a big lady, with a smile on her face all the time, and so friendly with everyone. She knows how to win the hearts of others. It makes me so happy she has been eating about anything, she still makes some horrible faces with some new foods, but mostly she'll eat anything that's not animal flesh. Until recently she has liked chicken. But meat she still doesn't like, hum. I'm okay with this, at least she loves beans, which has good source of protein. I make for her the 15 mix beans, this way she'll get plenty of protein.

In other news, she's teething :(( This is a horrible process! She's had a runny nose, and she had fever in the afternoon last Friday. I'm giving her everything to make her feel better! I give her vitamin in her morning milk bottle, I'm using saline drops for the runny nose, I'm giving her Tylenol, and leave on the vaporizer the whole night so that she sleeps well. I just hope she gets all her teeth soon! Love you Miss Gugu.

Borghese - Stellare Notte

Another fave nail color for this season has to be 'Stellare Notte' by Borghese! It's a monochrome color between purple and blue. Like I have mentioned before I'm really into dark nail colors, I just love them. They look great with anything you wear, it gives your more of a fancy look I think. I got into these monochronistic colors after I saw my sis wearing a very similar color to this which I still need to giver her back, I'll make a review and then maybe I'll give it back lol.

 One coat of nail-polish.

Second coat.

Crystal Deodorant

Now that we're still in October and it's breast cancer awareness month I want to share the best deodorant that I've ever used! It's 100% pure and natural, it doesn't have all those harmful ingredients that most deodorants have. It really gives me 24 hour protection, and I think I've been using the same deodorant bottle for more than a year now, that's how really long it lasts!! (4.25 oz.) It won't stain, it's not greasy, or sticky so it won't leave the white mess on clothes. There's three different bottle colors: clear, blue, and pink. I have the blue, the one on the right.

I like to apply this at night right after taking a shower, this way I don't have to worry about applying deodorant in the morning. The way to apply is wet the crystal surface, I like using warm water, and roll it to underarms just as you would any other deodorant. It really works throughout the whole day! It has no fragrance, I like it this way you won't get the mixture of scents from perfume, hair spray, deodorant, etc.

Ingredients:
Natural mineral salts (Ammonium Alum)
Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Extract)

It's super cheap! You can get it at any drugstore, or buy it online, it's only $7!! and best part is they donate part of their proceeds to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for the Cure!

I highly recommend this to everybody! Not only is healthy for you and the Earth, but also you'll be supporting a good cause.

I also wanted to show the Miami Downtown building that lights up in Pink for the whole month of October every year...
