Burt's Bees Shampoo

This is an update on a shampoo/conditioner I got from Burt's Bees last week. I got it exactly a week ago and have been washing my hair every two days. Thoughts? As I mentioned on that first post the scent is so good! As to how my hair is, I really don't like it. To me the shampoo doesn't lather well and I got an itchy scalp. My hair is looking quite dry and frizzy, not shiny at all as this line promises. From other customer reviews I saw they loved this shampoo, maybe it's my hair, who knows? I think I'll give it away to my sister and see if she likes it. I've ordered their 'More Moisture Raspberry & Brazil Nut' shampoo/conditioner. We'll see how that goes and I'll write another update.

Outfit of the Day

This is actually the second time me wearing shorts in years!! I never felt comfy in them, thinking I didn't have the right legs or I have to shave so much because I'm sooo hairy! I decided to give my shorts some use since they were hidden in the darkest part of my closet. Now I'm getting kind of used to it.

 Top - Zenana Outfitters
Blazer - Sweet & Sinful
Shorts - American Rag
Sandals - Report

Everything bought at Ross, except the shorts, they were bought at Macy's.

 Necklace - Claire's
Ring - High School Ring
Watch - Relic
Bracelet - Got it from my sis, which she got from my granny.

Burt's Bees and Thoughts

Recently I had been searching for a natural shampoo to use. I wanted to leave aside drug store hair products which usually contain harsh chemicals. So on my search I found great reviews on the Macademia shampoo but to me a little over price ($20 for just the shampoo bottle), I almost bought it, until I remembered Burt's Bees!! I've heard so much from Burt's Bees natural products but had never tried their hair products line. I've used only their chapsticks. Great thing about them, they are free of Paraben, Sulfate, Petrochemical , and Phthalate. Best of all their products are not tested on animals!! Because of my transition to becoming Vegan this is so important to me. I just got them today so I'll be sharing my initial thoughts. I'll make another review about the results in about a week or two.

I went ahead and bought....

Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo
I didn't like the smell from just opening the bottle, but once I applied it on my wet hair I fell in love. It smells so candy-like. Sugary, almost cotton-candy. The consistency feels almost watery, not what I'm used to feeling with drug store shampoos. Really had to massage my scalp to get a bit of foam.

Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Conditioner
The conditioner on my wet hair smelled like carrots! Yummy natural smell. It was easy to rinse it off. Unlike other conditioners that takes a lot of rinses to get rid off.

Hair Repair Shea & Grapefruit Deep Conditioner
This one I didn't get to try today, I will next time it's time to clean my hair. It smells really nice as well.

So in my quest to buy natural products for myself, why not buy the best for my little one too. I bought their Baby Bee Getting Started Kit...

Comes with five products in total...

Nourishing Baby Oil - As I was filling her tubby I applied three drops of this unto the water. Left things a bit slippery of course.
Shampoo & Wash - Smells soft so baby like! I really can't describe a smell for this. I applied this to her head.
Buttermilk Soap - For her body I used the soap. Also great soft smell just for a baby!
Nourishing Lotion - After finishing her bath time, I applied this lotion on her delicate skin. She already smelled good from the previous products but this left her skin feeling ultra soft :)
Diaper Ointment - Smells great as well! I didn't get to try it on her yet.

These were my initial thoughts. Love how they are natural, great-smelling, and most importantly not tested on animals. I'll keep using everything throughout this week and the next. I'll make sure to do a follow-up.

Movie Talk, Timeles?

Timeless? Or Limitless?? Limitless!!!!!!! As we, my friend Johana and I, were going to the booth to buy our movie tickets she came to the window to say, "I want a ticket to see Timeless", the lady answered, "You mean Limitless?", "Oh yeahhhh, Limitless!" lol haha! Yeah, that's how my friend is, cuckoo-head lol...

When we got to Dolphin Mall, we bought our movie tickets, and had 45 min. to spare to which we took advantage for dinner. We headed to Johnny Rockets, which I wasn't too excited about because I didn't know if they had any vegan options and to my amazement they did! I ordered their vegan burger, The Streamliner (The original meatless Boca® burger with grilled onions, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, pickle & mustard.) I ordered mine without the mustard. It was tasty. I got my burger paired with their American Fries, it was yum!!

And what to say about Limitless? Awesome movie!!!!!! One of the best movies I have seen a while! I want to get some of those pills, where you learn about anything or do anything in a matter of hours or days. Basically it's about this homeless guy who just by drinking 'magic' pills he became so smart and rich! Really great movie, what to say about the main actor?..... Kuuuu-teeee! His eyes, awww! I would learn French, Japanese, play the piano, harp, be a Photoshop pro, etc. I would do so much I would never end.
Thanks Johana for a nice night out! We have a lovely time!
