Reviva Labs - Makeup Primer
Iit's been almost a month since I started using the Reviva Labs Makeup Primer. Honestly I had never used one any than the Urban Decay eye primer, so this is my first makeup primer. They always say it's good to apply primer before applying foundation. In my search of products with few ingredients I found this one. I've seen Whole Foods and GNC carry this brand. I like how just a small amount has to be used, just a tiny drop and it will be enough for your whole face. I like to apply it using my Ecotools Foundation Brush, but you can also apply it with your fingers. While I wait for the primer to absorb, I like to decide what I'll wear for the day. The end result? I like the silky, velvety feel. This product is also goo to help conceal pores, controls excess oil, helps foundation last longer, and even men can use it directly on skin!!
Ecco Bella Foundation
I don't like it, but I don't hate it. I'm in between. I like how the Ecco Bella Foundation comes with natural, organic ingredients that it made me want to try it. This was the first time buying from this brand. I want to get more into eco-friendly, natural makeup. So although the packaging is not from recycled materials, I did like the list of natural ingredients. What I like about this foundations is that it's aloe based. I got it in Natural tone. It does give a nice coverage if applied with a foundation brush, but I dislike how quickly my skin starts to get oily. I have tried wearing makeup primer underneath, with powder on top, but for me it's still the same. I read great reviews from this product before buying but we all have different skin texture, what works for you might not work for me, and vice versa. I'll try a different brand next time.
As for the container, I really didn't like the Ecco Bella Foundation tube. I would always be getting more foundation amount than what I needed. Luckily I had saved an Almay pump which is more effective because now I don't waste unused foundation.
Ecotools - Foundation Brush
I was at the beauty department of Whole Foods when I came across EcoTools. Coincidentally I was in need of a foundation brush, I knew of EcoTools from following Alicia Silverstone's blog, she's always sharing tips on how to live an eco-friendly life style. So when I saw this product I thought it was the perfect brush to get. The case is retractable, made from recycled aluminum, so the bristles will never get damaged. The bristles are made of cruelty-free taklon. (I recommend reading this article about why go synthetic instead of using brushes made out of animal hair.) I want to look pretty, and at the same time know I'm making a positive impact on the Earth. What I like about the EcoTools are the affordable prices, this one I got for about $7, not bad huh? And what about the quality of this brush? Love it!! It's so soft, I clean it after every use and have been using it every day for my foundation application. I have so much fun applying makeup with this brush.
PS: I only review vegan products. Products that are free of animal testing, and animal ingredients.
