Emjoi Emagine 72 Tweezer-Head Epilator Review (and Emjoi Soft Caress)

Is the Emjoi Emagine 72 tweezer-head epilator worth it? In this complete review let’s see the pros and cons, and a full demo.

Recently I wanted to share one of my favorite beauty products because I’ve been using it for many years now. I love epilating instead of shaving, and waxing can cost too much. It’s true, an epilator is not cheap, but in the long run, it ends up saving you money. So in this video, I talk about two epilator models by Emjoi and talk about how they are different, what they have in common, and my experience with them, and show a short demo. I hope this is useful if you’re looking to buy one of them. Enjoy!

EPILATOR – WHAT IS IT?

Epilators are the new way to remove unwanted hair from various different parts of the body. An epilator will remove the hair from the root and making results last anywhere from four to six weeks. An epilator can be used on the legs, arms, underarms, bikini area, and upper lip. For this demo and review, I’m using two models by Emjoi that I have purchased in the past. The two models are Emjoi Soft Caress in purple and Emjoi Emagine a bright red.

DOES IT HURT?

From personal experience the first time I tried it on my underarms it was painful. That’s because before I had more hair and they were thick. But the more you use an epilator the pain will diminish. To this day it hurts a little bit but nothing compared to that first time, and other people say they don’t feel any pain at all. I even disregarded the idea of using my epilator on my bikini area because I thought it was going to be painful but to my surprise, it wasn’t! The first time it did hurt a little bit but the more I used it the less painful it was. On the other hand, on my legs, it’s a different story because every time I use it it’s always painful. I cringe when I have to use it on my legs but the results are worth it.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

To keep my underarms smooth I tend to epilate once or every two weeks and the same goes for my bikini area. The skin on these areas is left so smooth and it feels like baby skin and I really love it! But when I epilate my legs they never feel smooth, they kind of feel like cactus skin. I end up shaving afterward to achieve smooth skin. Another thing is if I wait six weeks to epilate like the company claims that results will last, by then I will be so hairy again. It all depends on how much hair you have and how fast it grows.

PREP YOUR SKIN

To prep your skin you want to make sure you either exfoliate or use the loofah brush. I like using Yes to Carrots Exfoliating Body Wash for being natural and a cruelty-free brand. Once your skin is ready you might want to apply Baby Bee Dusting Powder to make the skin dry from any oils and make your epilator experience much easier.

EPILATOR AFTERCARE – MOISTURIZE SKIN

Your skin might appear red a few hours after epilating. I usually epilate at night time before bedtime and I still notice red bumps the next day but only in my legs. This is normal and especially if you’re light skin it will be more noticeable. If I do my underarm by the next day I have no red marks. To moisturize my skin after epilating I use Now Solutions Almond Oil which is very soothing or sometimes if my Yes to Carrots Body Lotion (Now I like Hempz body lotion) is near then I’ll use just that.

I hope somehow this has been helpful to someone and until next time! Thanks for passing by 🙂

DEPILADOR DE EMJOI: Soft Caress + Emagine

I've always been so scared of epilators since my cousin used one on me when I was 12. Now I think I'm just being silly because it would be less painful than waxing which I do regularly 🙂

I've never tried using an epilator because I heard they hurt. Maybe I'll give it a try and see how it goes…I hate shaving.

  • Rosalyn Osorto October 23, 2015 at 12:10 AM

It all depends on which area of the skin you use it, but the more you use it the less it will hurt :))

Hi Rahaf, I have been using the loofah brush, or with a cream to exfoliate. These two methods work for me :))

  • LynSire June 4, 2019 at 1:59 PM

Hi Chrissy! To this day I still use my red Emjoi Emagine epilator and love it. I'm so hairy too lol Maybe look for a laser alternative.
