August Favorites 2016 (cruelty-free + vegan)

August is gone and September is here! Every has been passing by so fast for me and I can almost feel the end of the year!

For my August cruelty-free and vegan favorites I have a variety of items to share as always....

BEAUTY

Natural Oil Perfume
Let's begin my favorite topic... beauty. I think this might be considered a beauty item but I liked a lot my new oil based perfume 'Wind Dancer' by Kuumba Made. It's been years since I don't use conventional perfume that is made from so many chemicals. I like these alternatives because they are natural and healthier for our health. This one have a lovely, subtle, and girly scent. The bottle is small with a roll-on applicator and all you need is a small application for it to last the whole day. This is the third oil perfume bottle I get this year and I like keeping mine in my purse.

Fresh Breath
Next I have the Moondani Breath Mist. Again, another healthy alternative to conventional products. Moondani breath mist has oils derived from plants, organic vegetable glycerin, and distilled water. It has no additives, preservatives, sweeteners, nor alcohol. As always everything I mention is cruelty-free and vegan. Some of the ingredients include cardamon, fennel, and ginger. I just need one spray to get fresh breath. Another small bottle that fits easily in my purse.

Toothpowder
It might seem strange to use toothpowder to get clean teeth but I have been loving this alternative for so long. Not sure why I didn't mention it before but here it is. I use this every night on my bamboo toothbrush. You sprinkle a little bit of this powder on your wet toothbrush and start to brush your teeth. Eco Dent Toothpowder has baking soda, and mint. It has no fluoride, and it whitens your teeth. I love it for being natural, and effective!

FOODS

Nutritional Yeast
If you're vegetarian or vegan you're most likely familiar with this, using nutritional yeast as a cheese replacement. My nutritional yeast is by the brand Bob's Red Mill. Nutritional yeast has a cheesy flavor and one of the main benefits of nutritional yeast is that it doesn't have any cholesterol. It's also rich in B vitamins, including B12, and provides 8 grams of protein per serving. You can use this on veggies, kale chips, baked potatoes, popcorn, or like me, I sprinkle this on my rice. Just keep it in the fridge to maintain it fresh.

Coconut Oil Cooking Spray
I recently came across coconut oil cooking spray this and I wanted to share it. I have been using Kelapo Coconut Oil Non-Stick cooking Spray. I use this when I make pancakes or bake cookies. I like that this brand uses unrefined, cold pressed, extra virgin coconut oil. It's something basic but I love having this in my kitchen.

Smoothie King
We recently had a buy one, get one free coupon for a smoothie at Smoothie King. I went with my boyfriend and we got smoothies from the protein section which they use Sunwarrior plant-based protein. I got the Vegan Mango Kale smoothie which has raw plant-based protein, kale, mango, juice blend, bananas, apple juice, and almonds. My boyfriend went for the Vegan Dark Chocolate Banana smoothie which has plant-based protein, 100% cocoa, bananas, and açaí sorbet. They were both good but I specially liked mine that was fruity, haha! If you go to Smoothie King I recommend you try these vegan smoothies!

OTHER

Documentary
For August I had a few goals and one of them was to watch at least two documentaries. I got to see Twinsters. Twinsters is about two twin sisters separated at birth when they were adopted by different families. One of the twins grew up in the US while the other twin grew up in France. Both of them didn't know of each others existence until one of their friends saw one of the twins in a YouTube video. I like that in the documentary you get to see how they reconnect once again via Facebook messages, phone calls, video calling, and then they finally meet in person! It was fun, and sweet to watch.

This concludes my cruelty-free, and vegan favorites for August! What were some of your favorites for August? I would love to know! Thanks for passing by and until next time :))
