How to Tint Your Eyebrows At Home Tutorial
Hello!! Recently I thought about sharing how I tint my eyebrows at home. I’ve been doing it for a couple of months now and I wanted it to share it because I really like the results, I love how convenient it is, and you save money instead of going t the salon! So keep on reading to know more about this method…
What is Tint Your Eyebrows?
Henna eyebrows, or also known as tint your eyebrow and vice versa, is a ‘permanent’ way to color your eyebrows. This is a color that you apply directly on your eyebrows and will make your eyebrows appear filled in like if you had makeup on for a couple of weeks.
Why I did it? The benefits.
I was so curious of the henna eyebrow method and when I was at the salon getting hair keratin treatment I thought it was the perfect time to try it out for the first time! I liked the results but I wasn’t to fond of the eyebrow shape the hairstylist did for me.
Few days later I was wondering if this was something I could do at home. Doing my research online I came across the Godefrey Tint Your Eyebrows Kit and I was so happy to buy it! I can’t remember if I bought mine from eBay or Amazon but they come in a variety of shades. I like this kit so much because it brings everything you will need! I got Dark Brown but if you get Black the tint will last longer.

The major benefit of doing this method at home is you save money. When I was at the salon I paid $10 for one session. One kit is around the same price, and it comes with three capsules. Each capsule can be used twice, so in the end with one kit you get six uses!! At the salon that would be $50 that you’re saving! Plus another benefit is that you don’t have to do your eyebrows everyday because you already wake up with your eyebrows ready to go!
Prep your eyebrows.
Ready to tint your eyebrows? First make sure your eyebrows are really clean from any oils or makeup. Then I like to prepare my eyebrows either by tweezing, or threading. I personally prefer threading because it’s much faster and gives you a cleaner look.
Then if you like you can apply vaseline around your eyebrows to prevent any stains. I don’t apply any vaseline beforehand but if you do I recommend this natural alternative by Mrs. Meadowlark’s organic non-petroleum jelly; but there’s always various options for natural, vegan Vaseline on Etsy. I like the fact that is handmade and has 100% organic oils like coconut oil, lavender oil, just to name a few. It’s also free of parabens, phthalates, artificial colors and fragrances so as you can see it is a great alternative to conventional Vaseline!
I also grab a mascara wand to brush my eyebrows, small brush to apply the eyebrow tint, some q-tips to clean around the eyebrows, and an eyebrow stencil to fill in my eyebrows.

Apply the tint.
The steps are really easy to tint your eyebrows. The Godefroy eyebrow kit contains: 3 eyebrow shaping wax strips, .4 fl oz Developer, instructions, 3 Brow color capsules, mixing sticks, and a mixing cup.
I use each capsule twice because I feel like that’s the perfect amount I need. I mix equal amounts of the color capsule and the developer. I mix it until it’s well dissolved. When it’s ready I use my eyebrow stencil as a guide to fill them in. You leave this tint on for about 2 to 4 minutes.
To remove the stain you can either use natural baby wipes of makeup remover wipes. You clean your eyebrows and they are ready to go!! If you use the black eyebrow tint they will appear very dark the first day. By the second of third day they will appear more natural.
How long it lasts, and after care.
With the dark brown I notice the tint will last 2 to 3 weeks. With the black tint it lasts more like 3 to 4 weeks. During the following weeks you can continue your usual care for them. You can use a precision eyebrow tweezer any remaining hairs, and you can starting planning for your next eyebrow tint when you see the color to fade out.
That is all for today!! I hope this was somehow helpful and if you’re not able to find this particular eyebrow tint kit I’m sure you can find a similar one at your local Sally’s or beauty salon. If you’ve done it in the past, do you like the results as well? If you haven’t, is this something you will try out? Let me know! I want to know about your experience too. Until next time :))
