imPRESS nails are the new rave to have a nice manicure. imPRESS manicure are press on nails that claim to be easy to apply, it’s quick, and last a good amount of time. In this post I share all about my experience with imPRESS nails.

Some of the questions I will cover here are:

  • Are imPRESS nails waterproof?
  • Are imPRESS nails good?
  • Are imPRESS nails bad for your nails?

ARE IMPRESS NAILS CRUELTY-FREE?

imPRESS nails are cruelty-free brand. I contacted imPRESS nails brand via email and this is a screenshot with their response:

imPRESS nails confirmed with me via email they are a cruelty-free brand.

HOW TO APPLY IMPRESS NAILS

In each nail kit imPRESS includes a handy instructions. The kit brings a handy small wipe to clean your nails. You plan which nail size you want to apply on each nail. You remove the plastic cover from the nail, and then apply it to your own nail. Easy as that! Just make sure you are applying them on the correct side, which the handy instructions points it out.

Quick tip:

This is optional step and I have done this in the past. Before I apply imPRESS nails I apply a layer of clear base coat nail polish. This is so that the imPRESS nail is not directly on my nail and I find it easier to remove.

HOW LONG DO IMPRESS NAILS LAST

imPRESS nails press on are waterprood and have lasted up to three weeks on my fingers. The ideal time span is one week to keep then looking at it’s best. The second week they still look alright. But by the third week your cuticles will start showing and you will want to remove them.

Also when I clean or do dishes I make sure to use rubber gloves for cleaning to protect my nails and this helps my manicure last longer.

This is how they look by the third week, your cuticle will start showing:

HOW TO REMOVE IMPRESS NAILS

Let me tell you the best method to remove imPRESS nails so you don’t end up with damage nails like me, but I admit it was my fault. It get’s annoying when you start having a loose nail or when it gets lost. When you start having a loose imPRESS nail you can put it back on with nail glue. The other option is to put on a new imPRESS nail which you will most likely have leftovers since each package includes 30 nails.

The right way to remove imPRESS nails:

You do not want to force or pull on the imPRESS nails. You gently peel off from the side to remove. If your imPRESS nails seem really ‘stuck’,  apply acetone nail polish remover around edges, wait 1 minute, and then peel off. You can use the enclosed wood stick to help lift the imPRESS nail at the sides.

Of course I didn’t do the previous steps so I ended up withe damaged nails but it was my own fault. I did not use nail acetone to remove my imPRESS nails press on and that is why I ended up with some damaged nails.

This is how my nails looked after not removing imPRESS nails properly. My nails got damaged:

These look really good and I have to say that these types of press on nails have come a long way since I was a kid. I will have to check these out because if they do indeed stay on… it would be awesome to use them to dress up an outfit in a flash.

I haven’t used pressed-on nails in so long, I kind of forgot they exist. Now I’m thinking it would be fun to try them again.

I’ve only tried these kinds of nails once in my life when I was in my best friends wedding and all of the brides maids did it together. I’ll have to foward this to a friend of mine who loves dressing her nails up and using press ons.
